Leland's collection of guitars comprises a 2002 Jose Lopez Bellido, a 2000 Alhambra, and a 1987 Jose Ramirez.

2002 Jose Lopez Bellido

Cyprus back and sizes, cedar top. Very low action and very "flamenco" sound. Sharp attack and short sustain, useful for snappy rasgueado. High volume resonance, great for sound projection when accompanying dancers. Constructed in 2002 by luthier Jose Lopez Bellido from Granada

2000 Alhambra

Paolo Santo back and sides, cedar top. Low action with sharp attack and medium sustain. Slightly lower volume resonnance. Excellent as a student model guitar, especially for working on technique to even out the sound (rasgueado, tremolo, arpeggio, etc.). Model 7F.

1987 Jose Ramirez

Rosewood back and sides, spruce top. Strong sound projection and lightweight "flamenco" construction. Sharp attack and medium sustain, useful for solo and recording work. Model A1-trad.
