After rushing around in the morning with the last preparations, we made our way to the Wellingborough registry office ready for a 2.30 start. My friend Gunn had the job of keeping me organised, and also to make sure that the rings made it to the wedding safely. Our witnesses were Sami and Lydie, Caroline's brother and sister; the ceremony itself was simple, with essentially the closest members of our families, but there was a lot of emotion and happiness in the air.

Okay, after the best part of 8 years together, two children with a third on the way, we decided that it was about time to make it official and get married. If the truth be known, I had asked her years ago, but it took her ages to accept!  Anyway, we finally decided and agreed to tie the knot. We decided that we were going to do something very SMALL and SIMPLE, at the registry office, with two witnesses... well.. that WAS the plan. It looks like it may be turning out to be the wedding of the century at this rate, though. The guest-list has expanded somewhat, and we're now thinking about catering options and hiring out a local venue for a proper reception. (Was Caroline brainwashed by someone, I wonder?!?). This website is also one result of the change of pace! Anyway, it looks like either Caroline or I (or both) will be making regular updates to this blog, and we will hopefully be adding some photos as well at some point. Feel free to sign our guestbook (you'll need to "register" on the site before you can sign it -- this will also give me a good excuse to "hide" any photos and/or videos from "non-registered" users when we upload more content ...  ) We hope you enjoy the site as it unfolds and by all means feel free to leave a comment on the guest-book or leave comments for each article.
